When I was 10 I went to my first fandom event and I met Paul Darrow. For those of you who do not know who that is, he was Avon in Blake's 7 (see avatar)

A few years ago I had "lunch" with JD Fortune. My roommate and I won this through a local radio station, as did many other listeners. Out of everyone who went, my roommate, myself and another girl were the only three who didn't get our one on one time with him, b/c of this psycho girl who monopolized all his time and gave him her resume (yes seriously!)

That same year when I went to Canada so see INXS I got to meet Andrew and Jon Farriss and Kirk Pengilly at a bar after the show. Very cool to be hanging out drinking with the band. (and I do have a picture of this, if I could only find it!)

And depending on how you define celebrity I could go on about all the Red Sox players I've met, like Mike Timlin.

Oh and Bronson. I've met him like too many times to count LOL.

Oh and I met Bob Guiney when I saw Band from TV.

The Rabbit.

Personality

Occupying the 4th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Rabbit symbolizes such character traits as creativity, compassion, and sensitivity. Rabbits are friendly, outgoing and prefer the company of others. They also prefer to avoid conflict. In confrontational situations, Rabbits approach calmly and with consideration for the other party. Rabbits believe strongly in friends and family and lacking such bonds can lead to emotional issues.

Their serene nature keeps Rabbits from becoming visibly upset. Because they’re serene animals, Rabbits are easily taken advantage of. Their sensitive nature makes them shy away from aggressive or competitive situations. They’re overall conservative and not interested in taking risks.

Classy, sophisticated, expressive, well-mannered and stylish, those born under the Sign of the Rabbit enjoy leaning about cultural issues and learning about people from other countries. Rabbits are most comfortable being home, and their homes are always neat and organized. Home is also where Rabbits prefer to entertain. Rabbits are conservative in their decorating tastes.

Rabbits should work at building more self-confidence and self-worth so they can feel more secure. The desire for remaining in safe, comfortable environments keeps Rabbits from taking risks which sometimes causes them to miss out on good opportunities.

Health

Even though Rabbits don’t usually get visibly upset or stressed, they do tend to keep these feelings inside. When they don’t express these feelings, such feeling can cause Rabbits to become ill. Rabbits could benefit from more everyday activity which would reduce their stress levels and better their health.

Relationships

Rabbits are very sexual, but tend to give more of themselves than they should. This can lead to unrealistic expectations and unhealthy situations. Rabbits need partners who won’t take advantage of their giving nature. Such pairings will be strong.

Career

Rabbits are articulate and good communicators which is why friends and acquaintances seek out their advice. It’s also why Rabbits make excellent diplomats and politicians. Other good careers for Rabbits include: writer, publisher, actor, fashion designer, therapist, doctor, administrator, public relations, and teacher.

Wood Rabbits – Years 1915 and 1975

Wood Rabbits occupy their time doing for others; always feeling the need to make others content. This generosity is easy for others to take advantage of and sometimes Water Rabbits don’t even realize is happening.

Compatibility

The Rabbit is most compatible with the Pig and Dog and incompatible with the Rooster and Rat.

Blood maybe, but I'm ok right now, and I like all my organs where they are.

I was 5 when John Lennon died but I remember seeing it on the news. It affected me more when I was older, and was really into the Beatles... I was a teenager when Roy Orbison died, and I remember I had wanted to see him perform a few days before and wasn't able to get my mom to take me. When George Harrison died 7 years ago, I was deeply saddened. He was the Beatle I related best to; I loved his music and his passion for spirituality.

Having lived all my life in MA, the blizzard of '78 is my earliest memory at 3. John Lennon's death 28 years ago when I was 5. The Challenger explosion. I was in 5th grade; we watched it live in school. I remember being so confused.

The fall of the Berlin wall, the first Gulf War, the deaths of Kurt Cobain and Michael Hutchence.....

Y2K, because I worked in computers at the time, and so much work went into making sure everything would be working come the year change.

9/11 is what I would say is comparable in memory, to how my mom remembers exactly what she was doing, where she was when JFK was assassinated. I had had an orthodontist appt that morning and was late for work. I remember parking in a far away parking lot and running into a co-worker on the way. I got to work and went to go online, and couldn't get to boston.com or any news/media source. I went to ask a co-worker if there was an issue w/ the internet, and that was when people were starting to find out, and work stopped being so important.

[Error: unknown template qotd] I never had to hide anything,  I read everything, which was how I knew where babies come from when I was 5.  (That is what happens when you have a kid who can read at 3.)  Nothing was ever kept from me, except the time I tried to watch "Dogs in Space," which starts off like porn and my dad was having none of that.   Of course my parents let me watch Dallas in elementary school and walk around pretending like I was a drunk Sue Ellen with a ginger ale bottle instead of vodka.  (and I wonder why I had no friends)
